SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Dr. Koena Mukherjee passed her 10th board exam (WBBSE) from Raiganj Girls’ H.S. School in 2003 and 12th board exam (WBCHSE) from Raiganj Coronation H.S. School in 2005. She has secured 74th rank in WBBSE exam and holds national scholarship. She obtained her B.Tech degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering from HIT, WBUT in 2009. After which she received her M.Tech degree from National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, H.P in 2011. During her M.Tech, she was selected for “Inter NIT Student Exchange Programme” and completed her M.Tech dissertation work from NIT Rourkela. In 2016, she was awarded the Ph.D. degree in Control & Automation from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. She joined Robotics and ISI Handling Section, IGCAR, Department of Atomic Energy as Research Associate in the year 2016. After completing her work as RA, she joined NIT Silchar in 2018. She is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, National Institute of Technology Silchar since 2018. She is a member of IEEE and ACDOS. Her research interests include Autonomous robots (Aerial, Underwater), Biomimetic robots, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, Nonlinear Control of Robots, Robust & Adaptive Control, Motion Planning.

Till now she has published more than 20 research articles.  She has received numerous research projects from National Funding Agencies like DST, MSME, TIH-IIT Guwahati. She has also been granted a German Patent in 2022. She is an active reviewer of various reputed journals and has reviewed more than 50 papers to date. Currently, she is supervising 1 Ph.D. scholar in the area of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Control using Data Driven Techniques.

She is also an active member of the Departmental Post-Graduate Program Committee and one of the General Chair of the Conference titled Emerging Electronics and Automation (E2A 2022) which is co-sponsored by Springer.
